West District Organizes Cyclothon Under FIT INDIA Campaign to Promote Healthy Living
West District DM Vandana Rao led a Cyclothon with 300+ participants under FIT INDIA, featuring cycling, Zumba, Bhangra; supported by Trinity & IACT.
New Delhi, August 31, 2025 – The West District Administration, under the dynamic leadership of District Magistrate Ms. Vandana Rao, IAS, successfully organized a Cyclothon on 31st August as part of the FIT INDIA Campaign, inspiring the community to embrace fitness and an active lifestyle.
The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of over 300 school students, college students, and civil defense volunteers from across the district. The Cyclothon was led by Ms. Vandana Rao, District Magistrate, alongside Dr. Nitin Sshakya, SDM Patel Nagar, and Dr. Sameer Bhati, President & Director of Trinity Foundation.
Addressing the participants and media, Dr. Nitin Sshakya emphasized the importance of consistent physical activity, stating, “We commit to 30 minutes of physical activity daily.” Following the rally, participants, along with officials, took a Fitness and Sportsmanship Pledge, reaffirming their dedication to the Fit India movement.
The event was not limited to cycling alone — participants also enjoyed volleyball matches, energetic Zumba sessions, and vibrant Bhangra performances, creating an inspiring and engaging atmosphere throughout the day.
This initiative received strong support from Trinity Foundation, which played a key role in mobilizing youth and spreading fitness awareness, and from IACT Education, which partnered as the community outreach and certification partner, ensuring participants received proper recognition for their commitment to the cause.
Speaking at the event, Ms. Vandana Rao expressed her appreciation for the overwhelming response and highlighted the importance of collective efforts to build a healthier and more active community.
The Cyclothon not only reinforced the vision of the FIT INDIA Movement but also motivated participants and spectators alike to incorporate fitness into their daily routines.
